Pavilion Nostalgia Park and Carousel Park

Among the classic attractions at this small, nostalgia-themed amusement park are "rides" that were popular at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion from the 1950s until the park closed in 2006. Most prominent is the German Baden Band Organ, built in Germany in 1900, which entertained generations of vacationers at Myrtle Beach.

Site Description
Located at Broadway at the Beach on U.S. 17 Bypass, the Pavilion Nostalgia Park and Carousel Park contains historic amusement park attractions that were popular with beachgoers at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion from the 1950s until the Pavilion closed in 2006. Among the classic amusement attractions from that era available to park visitors are the kiddie boat ride, the
"Merry-Go-Round" carousel, the Caterpillar ride and the German Baden Band Organ.

Constructed in 1900 in Bayden, Germany for the World Exposition in Paris, the ornate Band Organ was purchased and placed at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion on Ocean Boulevard in 1954. The two-ton, 11-foot-high organ features 400 pipes, 98 keys, assorted functional music instruments and 12 elaborately hand-carved moving figurines. To generations of Myrtle Beach vacationers, the Baden Band Organ was a familiar and popular attraction.
